Introduction The repository csunibo/update contains a simple Bash script to apply the same patch (in .diff format) to all course repositories at once. Before You Begin For each repository, passwords for any ssh and gpg keys are prompted by git about 4 times.

If you’re new to this, using GitHub’s web interface is an easy way to contribute to a course’s resources: When you view the resources you want to modify, to the right of the path at the top of the page, click on the GitHub icon ; In the top right, click on “Fork” and, on the resulting page, “Create fork”; You will see github.

Adding a new course is easy if you are already within the CSUnibo organization on GitHub: On template-it/template-en, use “Use this template”/“Create a new repository”; As the new name, use the-kebab-case-convention, eng- as a possible prefix for Computer Engineering, cse- as a possible prefix for Computer Science and Engineering (no prefixes are needed to distinguish between bachelor’s and master’s courses); As the description, use a phrase similar to “A collection of resources for the teaching of Programming Languages (04138) of the Bachelor’s Degree Course in Computer Science”; Choose “Public” and proceed to “Create repository from template”; Enable GitHub Pages from “Settings” / “Pages” setting “Source” as “GitHub Actions”; Grant “Maintain” rights to the relevant groups.

When there are new changes on a PR or on the main branch, some automated checks are performed. It’s important that all checks pass before the PR is accepted. Moderators will help you along the way.
